| A recent patient had been experiencing low back pain radiating into her leg. While at work the patient suffered an exacerbation of this condition and had been under many personal stresses. | I am a retail jewelry storeowner in New York, an ambitious, success driven individual, who has trouble sitting still, typical "Type A Personality", and a control freak. | As I listened to the CD it was difficult to evaluate it as I was quickly drawn down into a state of hypnosis and began to unknowingly participate in the exercise. The hypnotic effect of this CD was so profound that I had to take off the headset and listen to the narrative on speakers at a distance to avoid being hypnotized. The CD's incorporate the best of modern technology, synchronistic brain research, and hypnotic techniques. 2 Imagine...The Art of Self-Relaxation combines the talents of Board Certified Hypnotherapist Sharon R. Penchina and Stuart Hoffman, D.C. This exciting new state-of-the-art Dual-Sync CD integrates the right and left brain by simultaneously feeding two different, yet synchronistic, programs into each ear for the purpose of integrating body, mind and spirit. The very advanced techniques and technology are intended to induce deep Alpha/Theta states of relaxation in order to imbed positive messages and affirmations with completely audible (no subliminal) suggestions. Included are two thirty minute programs intended for complete relaxation. While I found myself fascinated and almost relaxed during the first, more conventional format, I was occasionally jarred from euphoria by abrupt, alternate and overlapping echoes in each ear which made me a little nauseous-but oddly, that's not to say the CD didn't accomplish its ultimate purpose "to increase motivation, confidence, focus and well-being." | Thank you for recommending that I use the Art of Self Relaxation compact disk. The first time I used it I woke up in the middle of the night and could not return to sleep. I listened to the c.d. and felt relaxed enough to go right back to sleep by the end of the recording. Last night, I used the c.d. again, because my body was overtired and my mind too active to sleep. I woke up two hours later having not moved a muscle with the headphones still on my head realizing that I never even made it to track 2. What really works for me with this recording is how I am able to feel my body respond quickly to the suggestions of each body part releasing tension along with the natural flow of the breath. It is a great benefit to for me to experience this kind of deep relaxation in my muscles and body segments since my daily work is so physical. I have decided that I will use this c.d. each night before bed, so as to encourage greater levels of relaxation on a regular basis. Thanks again. | ||||
